Apostilles and return to the location of City Skate Tour #5 Alicante, 23 April 2021. Calle Sant Agustí. Casco Antiguo – Santa Cruz. Alicante. Spain.

On April 23, I go back to Sant Agustí street, where days before I had been emplaced installation City Skate Tour #5, Alicante, April 18, 2021. I notice that there has been a modification in the door-panel where I left the photographs (photocopies ). Someone, an anonymous passerby, moved the photograph behind the grill (titled Indio) and relocated it to the bottom of the door.

It may well seem that the action is motivated by the need to make it even more visible and tangible in that minimal framework. In addition, to ensure its fixation, the lower right part of the paper is pierced by a screw. The location and, therefore, the visual threshold, is transformed through the initiative of an unexpected agent who decides to reformulate the general visibility of the panel.

El 23 Abril vuelvo a pasar por la calle Sant Agustí, donde días antes había emplazado la instalación de City Skate Tour #5, Alicante, 18 Abril 2021. Advierto que se ha producido una modificación en la puerta-panel donde dejé las fotografías (fotocopias). Alguien, un transeúnte anónimo, ha cambiado de sitio la fotografía que se encontraba tras la rejilla (titulada Indio) y la ha reubicado en la parte inferior de la puerta.

Bien pudiera parecer que la acción está motivada por la necesidad de hacerla aún más visible y tangible en ese entramado mínimo. Además, para asegurar su fijación, la parte inferior derecha del papel es atravesada por un tornillo. El emplazamiento y, por tanto, el umbral visual, se transforma a través de la iniciativa de un agente inesperado que decide reformular la visibilidad general del panel.

City 00Skate days (CSKD) is a project of great scope on the world of skateboarding, raised from a vision that tries to go beyond its sporting side. I focus attention on aspects that reflect a subcultural model, very diverse moments and contexts, attitudes and signs that tell us about that experience: fashion, graffiti, gestures, local environments, lifestyles, group interaction, youth and contemporary identities. But it also opens up to other perspectives: the visibility and roles of women in the world of skateboarding, the relationship between skate and social integration based on community actions, the practice of skate in developing countries, the reinterpretation of urban culture from the expressiveness of very different local identities.

City 00Skate days (CSKD) es un proyecto fotográfico sobre el mundo del skate, planteado desde una visión que intenta ir más allá de su vertiente deportiva. Centro la atención en aspectos que reflejan un modelo subcultural, momentos y contextos muy diversos, actitudes y signos que nos hablan de esa vivencia: moda, graffiti, gestos, entornos locales, estilos de vida, interacción grupal, identidades juveniles. Pero también se abre a otras perspectivas: la visibilidad y roles de la mujer en el mundo del skate, la relación entre el skate y la integración social a partir de acciones comunitarias, la práctica del skate en países en vías de desarrollo, la reinterpretación de la cultura urbana desde la expresividad de muy diversas identidades locales.
